What Optimist Clubs Do
Optimist Clubs are dedicated to “Bringing Out the Best in Kids” and do their part through community service programs. Since each Club is autonomous and run by members in their community, Optimists have the unique flexibility to serve the youth of their area in any way they see fit. Optimist Clubs see a need in their community and react to it.

Another Great Optimist Year Has Ended and Members are
Congratulated for the Support Provided to Our Schools and Kids
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Optimist Don Myles on May 16, 2017. His
contributions to our club and the school children we support were remarkable.
Our final meeting of the current Optimist Year included the recognition of Judge Steve Takas, Windcrest City Court, as the Respect for Law, John P. Frisco Award selectee. The presentation was made by The Respect for Law Program coordinator, Mitch Weidenbach.
Members also welcomed Brenna Howell as the newest Windcrest Optimist as she was officially inducted into Optimist International. Brenna is no stranger to the activities of Optimist International and has been a major supporter of our Student Recognition Program for many years.

OPTIMISTIC THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH
“Positive thoughts lead to positive actions and feelings. If your first waking thought is,
“It’s going to be a GREAT DAY!”, It usually will be.”
